About

Scott is actually my middle name;  I grew up being called Scotty by family and friends.  My first name is Kevin.

I live in Willow Spring or is it Willow Springs?  Weird, I know.  I grew up calling it Willow Springs but the post office lists it as Willow Spring.  It’s the large area just outside of Raleigh between Garner, Benson, and Angier.

I’m a husband to Jatana.  We actually met on a blind date!  We dated through college and I proposed to her at this little river front restaurant during the Azalea Festival in Wilmington, NC.  That was in 1999 and we were married later in the same year.  We didn’t want to wait!

It’s a joy and privilege to be called dad by two awesome little boys.

I teach first and second grade Sunday School with my wife.  I’m constantly amazed at how much they know and how much I need to learn.

I’m not a picky eater at all.  One of my favorite sides is sweet potato casserole.  It’s my Grandma’s recipe and Jatana has perfected it!  It’s so rich and sweet we only bring it out at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

BMX was a huge part of my life.  Some of my best memories are traveling to races with friends and hanging out at the trails.  If I had a few jumps in my yard I would probably be riding them right now.  That’s something I need to work on!

I also enjoy surfing and snowboarding although I haven’t been in a while.  That’s something else I need to work on!  I live two hours from the beach and 3.5 hours from the mountains and have my own boards.  There’s just no excuse!

We only have one TV in the whole house.

I love my family and getting together with them.  We always share laughter.

I’m a little bit of a perfectionist.  Sometimes to a fault.  It’s only because I care about the product I’m putting out there.

One of my favorite shoots so far was going to Washington DC to shoot photos for Restoration Church.  It was on a limited budget, and freezing cold. It was great!

I still can’t believe I was the only photographer allowed on the set during Extreme Makeover Home Edition’s Raleigh build.  I was there from 5:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening for a week straight and loved every minute of it.

I have been fortunate to cover events for WRAL.com, shoot architecture for local builders and shoot some amazing weddings.

I love shooting everything!  I approach every shoot as if I were doing it for myself.

I like coffee!
