Ride for the Red

This past weekend I had the opportunity to cover the Ride for the Red event put on by the American Red Cross.  The event started at Ray Price Harley Davidson in Raleigh and ended at Locked and Loaded in Garner.  Even though it was hot (Tarzan hot!) they had their most successful year to date with 69 bikes participating. I was happy to be a part of it. Check out some of my favorites below.

One Year!

One year ago today I finally started blogging! I’m proud to say that I have somewhat kept it updated too. It’s also my birthday! What better way to celebrate than post some of my favorite shots from the Ray Price Harley Davidson Open House event held this past Saturday. I had a booth with a few of my large biker/car canvas gallery wraps on display. They had a huge turnout and it was cool to be a part of it!

Mission Fair and Race

Recently Luke participated in the RA’s mission fair and pine car race. The RA’s had to come up with a way to share Christ with others and then document it in order to compete in the race. Luke baked cookies and then placed them in a bag with a note for the children at the Raleigh Rescue Mission. Doing a project like this was right up his alley. I think the photos below truly show his heart in what he was doing. Andrew got in on some of the action too. It was very hard for him to understand why he couldn’t eat any of the cookies.

As for the car, we started out building a “carrot car”.  I have to admit the idea wasn’t completely original. A good friend of mine made one when we were in the cub scouts. I mentioned it to Luke and since he loves carrots he thought that was a cool idea. We were ready to paint it when I found out the nose was illegal. The carving on the bottom side of the nose would allow his car to start rolling before the starting mechanism was all the way down (I promise I didn’t know). The Saturday before the race we were building another car! We kept it simple and it worked out. Luke actually won his age group within our church. We got to race the next weekend against the other winners within the Raleigh Baptist Association and lost out in the first round.

The whole thing was a cool experience. I haven’t done a car race like that since I was in the cub scouts and it was neat to experience it again with my son. Maybe the carrot car will make it’s debut next year.  :)

Prayer

Somehow way back in May I missed blogging about this.  The photos below are from the National Day of Prayer event held on the State Capitol Lawn in Raleigh, NC.  I thought they would serve as a reminder for everyone to pray for the victims as well as the aid/rescue workers in Haiti.

The Holland Family

Whoa! It’s been a while since I have posted anything!  I guess it’s that time of year.  The Holland family was celebrating the baptism of their newest addition and asked me to hang out and get some cool shots.  Turns out I used to work for/with several of their family members which made it super easy to blend right in and get some nice candid shots.  Check out a few of my favorites below.
